More Connor Q

The Happy Mom
The Hair.
This makes it look a little darker than it really is, but it is dark and there is quite a lot.

Gramps holding his lip out. He is a lipsucker like Chase and Easton. I guess it is just in the boy genes.
He wouldn't wake up. We will try to get some with his eyes open tomorrow.

Connor Q Cannon

He weighs 8 lbs 7 oz and is 21 inches long. He had a problem with the umbilical cord and couldn't be born so he was born c-section this evening at about 5:20. He and Jennie are doing fine. Curt is too! It was a little scary for a while, but everything is good. He is a great-great-great grandson of George Q Cannon ...so his name is Connor Q Cannon. More tomorrow. It has been a long day..even for the grandma!

Jackets add first area title to record-setting season

WICHITA FALLS - Stephenville officially made 2009 the most successful season in the 20-year history of its boys soccer program on Monday, as the Yellow Jackets picked up a school record 20th win and won their first area championship.Mason Taylor and Shelby Sharp scored two goals each and Stephenville held Borger to only four shots on goal in a 4-0 shutout in the Class 4A Region I area final at WFISD Memorial Stadium. The win marked just the second postseason victory in school history for SHS."This was a big win for our program," said Stephenville head coach Ramsay Wright. "Now we have to get past just being the best team Stephenville has ever had and focus on what we're capable of, and that's a legitimate deep playoff run."

A fierce south wind was likely all that kept Borger from being blown out in the first half, and it helped Stephenville to put the game away in the secondThe Jackets spent much of the first half - including virtually all of the first 10 minutes - defending the north goal as Borger went to work with the wind at its back. The Bulldogs, fourth place finishers in District 5-4A, mustered only two weak shots on goal before halftime, while Stephenville took advantage on two of five first-half scoring opportunities.Taylor snuck behind the defense and took a long pass in transition to put the Jackets on the board with 28:36 to play in the opening half. Just over six minutes later, the junior took a shot that was deflected in front of the net and went directly to offensive captain Shelby Sharp, who slipped a low shot past the keeper for a 2-0 advantage at the 22:14 mark.

With the wind in its favor, Stephenville wasted no time putting the game away in the second.Taylor broke away for his second goal and a 3-0 lead just 7:38 into the final half, and Sharp followed with a score that was assisted by Brandon Hall less than three minutes later to give the game its final tally with 29:48 left.Sharp, a senior, continues to add to his school record for goals in a season. He now has 29.District 7-4A runner-up Stephenville, now 20-5 on the year, advances to face Amarillo Caprock, which finished second in District 5-4A. As of press time Monday night a date and site for the regional quarterfinal had yet to be determined.

Although Dan has been on JV during the season, he was moved to Varsity for post season play and played the entire second half of this game.

The next game is on Friday. I will keep you posted.

Apparently there was picture of Mason in the print newspaper, but not on the online version.

Kite!

After a tiring day of shopping, lunch and riding bikes, we went to the park just east of Sara and Luke house to fly a kite. Luke made sure the kite didn't take Amy up in the sky with it
Our neighbor Ethan came to enjoy the kite flying party.

Who says the nose bleed seats aren't fun!

There are just no words for this picture.....! I will just say, Carrie wins!
My old camera does take video. The picture quality is poor and there is no sound, but Tyson was being so funny singing I had to try to save it for his posterity! He is singing the song, "we will, we will, rock you". It might be a "you had to be there" moment, but it was really funny.

Museums and Boys

Field Trip! Staying home all of the time is boring! This morning we had an appointment at the Museum of Peoples and Cultures on the BYU campus. Our neighbor Scott , Ethan's daddy works there so we decided we should go see what it was all about. The museum sponsors a reading time for preschoolers on Friday mornings . This one was a special one with a clay activity. After listening to a story, the boys were given some playdough and shown how to make a pinch pot. Of course, they are experienced playdough people and did a great job. After making their own pots, we took a tour of the museum to check out all of their pots. One favorite was the dog. We decided we needed more clay to make one of our own.

Since it was only 11:00 AM and we weren't ready for lunch we decided to give the Bean Museum a look also. We arrived just as a school bus full of kids were leaving. Luke spied the gift shop right off the bat and had a hard time concentrating on the animals, but we made it through without any incident...touching anything they shouldn't for example.

My Favorite Animal in the Museum. Does he look familiar?
