Tending the Myers kids

We left Thursday, January 31st. We stayed the night at the Cannons thinking we would get up early and leave for Spirit Lake. The weather was not cooperating. The road to the Montana boarder was closed until noon. We left as soon as it was opened and made it to the Myers at 10:00 P.M. Going through those high mountain passes in the dead of winter was an experience to remember or forget! We made it though. Carrie and Sean left Monday morning for Guatemala. They wouldn't be back until late Wednesday, February 6th. They had a wonderful trip. If you check out their blog you will probably see a lot of pictures of them standing in front of a lot of old things.

The Myers kids were very good and fun to tend. We had a good time. Most of the time, we just stayed home because the weather was so bad. They had the storm of the Century just before we got there and it continued for a few days after. Some people had been snowed in for a week or more.

While we were there, Spirit Lake Elementary had the 2nd quarter Awards Assembly. We were proud to watch Carson get the Principal's Award and Cameron honored for being on the honor roll. They represented the family very well!

The Cannon's Visit

Allie, Chase and Easton are visiting for the weekend. Mom and Pop went to Los Angeles for Jennie's birthday....shhhh..It is her 30th!. She doesn't like to talk about it. They are going to Universal Studios this morning. Maybe a little window shopping on Rodeo Drive this afternoon and a Jazz - Clipper's game tonight. Tomorrow they are going to the play...Wicked.

As for those of us left at home. We are trying to keep Easton upstairs and out of the kitchen cupboards. Chase and Luke are playing pretty good together and Allie is helping make this blog. Sara was up early with Easton and she is asleep on the living room couch. Gramps is still "resting and relaxing".

This afternoon Allie and Grams are going to make her a Sleeping Beauty costume. She is going to be in a 2nd grade play at her school. We are going to wait until Easton is asleep before trying to accomplish that project. We will post a picture when it is done.

It is raining and dreary here this morning. We were hoping for a little sun for kids could play outside, but no go.
